The collaboration has also launched one of the largest real-world metabolic health studies to support future AI-driven health coaching and product innovation.
Under the collaboration, Abbott's over-the-counter Lingo continuous glucose monitor will be integrated into the Google Health app, allowing users to view their glucose trends alongside other health and wellness information in a single interface.
Google Health's AI-powered Health Coach will use these combined insights to generate contextual recommendations designed to help users build healthier habits related to nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and recovery.
"Abbott and Google are creating a more complete picture of health that can help people better understand the connections between their daily habits and overall well-being. We have an opportunity to provide powerful, personalized health insights that can help people live longer, healthier lives." - Rishi Chandra, Vice President & General Manager of Google Health.
The research will combine continuous glucose data with wearable device information, laboratory results, sults and survey responses to better understand how daily behaviors influence metabolic health.
Findings from the study are expected to inform future AI coaching capabilities within the Google Health app and new features for Abbott's Lingo platform.
The companies said Lingo integrations within the Google Health app are expected to begin rolling out later this year.
Initially, Lingo is intended for adults aged 18 years and older who are not using insulin and is currently available in the United States and the United Kingdom.
