Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospitals Undertakes INR 106 Cr Expansion in Ahmedabad

The expansion will add six Class-100 operation theatres, a Hybrid Cath Lab, additional Surgical ICU capacity, and critical care beds at the campus.

Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospitals, operated by the Prashanti Medical Services and Research Foundation, has undertaken an INR 106 crore expansion project at its Kasindra campus in Ahmedabad to increase capacity for free heart treatment and surgeries.

The expansion will add six Class-100 operation theatres, a Hybrid Cath Lab, additional Surgical ICU capacity, and critical care beds at the campus.

The hospital has provided free heart treatment and surgeries to needy patients for the past 26 years through its ‘Dil Without Bill’ initiative. The initiative was also appreciated by the former President of India, the late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

The hospital recently discharged 20 children after free open-heart surgeries. The children, who had recovered following treatment, celebrated by playing Garba together at the hospital on August 9.

The hospital management said its service model is based on ensuring that patients are not deprived of cardiac treatment because of financial constraints.

As part of its wider patient outreach, the hospital has also entered into MoUs with eight states across India. Through these arrangements, needy children from different parts of the country can access advanced heart treatment and surgeries free of cost.

The additional infrastructure at the Ahmedabad campus will expand the hospital’s capacity across operating theatres, cardiac intervention, and critical care services, supporting its ongoing free cardiac treatment program.
