Aarogya Tech Donates Praana Digital Health Platform to IIT Roorkee for Research & Innovation
Aarogyatech has taken a major leap to advance the cause of digital health by donating its flagship Praana health monitoring platform to IIT Roorkee, aiding research, innovation, and student engagement in digital health and medical technology.
US-headquartered digital health startup Aarogya Tech is expanding its mission to accelerate technology-driven healthcare by gifting its integrated Praana health monitoring platform, comprising Praana Assist, Praana Companion, and Praana Guide, to IIT Roorkee.
The initiative is targeted at driving advanced research, student-led innovation, and real-world testing of next-generation health technologies.
The Praana platform, by Aarogya Tech, is a medical-grade health ecosystem designed to bring advanced diagnostics and personalized monitoring into day-to-day environments. Non-invasive sensing technologies are integrated with continuous wellness insights, while offering remote collaboration tools to clinicians. Its road map includes applications such as early screening for cancer, genomic readiness at the community level, and predictive preventive care.
The effort is helmed by Co-founder and Chief Product & Technology Officer Ajay Vikram Singh, an IIT Roorkee alumnus in Electrical Engineering (1999). Singh reiterated that Aarogya Tech was committed to developing tools at the confluence of engineering innovation and meaningful healthcare impact.
"IIT Roorkee shaped my foundation as an engineer and innovator. This contribution is a small step toward nurturing the next generation of healthcare innovators who can bridge advanced technology with real-world medical needs," he said.
The donation is supported by the Hersha H and Hasu P Shah Family Foundation. Noted philanthropist and entrepreneur Hasu P. Shah, founder of the Hersha Hospitality Group, highlighted his long-standing interest in technology-enabled social change.
He said Aarogya Tech’s multidisciplinary team is addressing critical gaps in global healthcare, and added he was proud to support the company’s vision.
Aarogya Tech looks to fast-track breakthroughs in digital health research and data-driven medical technology by enabling the academic environment to work hands-on with the Praana system. This will further contribute to the ongoing work on research, training of algorithms, and strengthening of healthcare systems.
Faculty from IIT Roorkee recognized the importance of Aarogya Tech's effort by underlining that the platform brings sophisticated diagnostic and monitoring capabilities to the institute's healthcare and research setup.
Leaders in administration, clinical units, and research committees underscored that Aarogyatech's contribution would help in promoting interdisciplinary working in digital health and innovative work in the development of medical devices.
