Reportedly, plans are underway to develop additional medical colleges in Ballia and Balrampur, along with six other districts.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has recently unveiled the ‘Sharda Care-Health City’ in Greater Noida.

The CM also called for bolstering medical infrastructure to ensure world-class healthcare is accessible to all.

During the inaugural event, Adityanath noted the rapid establishment of premier medical institutions in India, highlighting that the country had only six AIIMS hospitals in its first 70 years, while 22 have been launched in the past decade under PM Modi's leadership.

"For a civilized society, excellent health services are essential. The government is continuously working to promote investment in the health sector," he stated, emphasizing that India has seen an extraordinary transformation in medical facilities in the last ten years.

Reflecting on Uttar Pradesh’s advancements, he revealed that the state had just 12 medical colleges until 2017, but 40 new colleges have been created in the last eight years.

Moreover, 37 private medical colleges have been opened, and three have emerged through public-private partnerships in Maharajganj, Sambhal, and Shamli.

Reportedly, plans are underway to develop additional medical colleges in Ballia and Balrampur, along with six other districts.

The Chief Minister further reiterated the government's dedication to providing free dialysis, CT scans, and MRI services in every district, aiming to ensure an adequate supply of doctors and technical staff in rural areas.

To enhance public health awareness, he mentioned the weekly 'Mukhyamantri Arogya Mela' held every Sunday, which offers healthcare guidance and services to citizens.

He also emphasized that Uttar Pradesh leads in implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme, benefiting 10 crore residents with golden health cards.

Additionally, essential workers, including ASHA workers, ANMs, home guards, PRD jawans, and village watchmen, will now receive health insurance coverage of INR 5 lakh.

"Health tourism is rapidly expanding, and India has the opportunity to become a global leader in this sector," the UP CM noted.

Adityanath concluded by recognizing India’s growing role in global healthcare and the emerging potential of medical tourism.
