Australia-based TeleMedC has partnered strategically with Mumbai-based AND Healthcare Solutions to provide AI-powered retinal disease screening across India. The collaboration seeks to address the increasing burden of preventable eye diseases, offering affordable, early-detection solutions for millions of people.
The AI platform is designed to detect early signs of conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular diseases, which can lead to vision impairment or blindness if not treated promptly.
"We aim to screen one billion eyes over the next decade, driving early detection, disease prevention, and affordable access to advanced diagnostics," said Dr. John Smith, CEO of TeleMedC. "This partnership with AND Healthcare will enable us to make critical eye care more accessible to all, especially in rural and underserved areas."
The partnership, supported by Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), the Queensland Government’s global business agency, will deploy advanced eye imaging and AI-powered diagnostics across India.
TeleMedC has also partnered with other Indian institutions, including Aravind Eye Hospital, through the Australia-India Strategic Research Fund to develop further and advance AI-driven solutions for eye health.
