Teladoc Acquires Telecare to Expand International Virtual Healthcare
The deal, which closed on August 8, 2025, did not disclose financial terms and is expected to have minimal impact on Teladoc’s 2025 financial results.
Teladoc Health has acquired Australian virtual care provider Telecare as part of its ongoing efforts to bolster international operations.
The deal, which closed on August 8, 2025, did not disclose financial terms and is expected to have minimal impact on Teladoc’s 2025 financial results.
Telecare operates a virtual care clinic covering more than 30 specialties. It handles appointments referred by general practitioners and provides services to public hospitals across Australia.
The company will continue to function under its existing brand and management team.
Carlos Nueno, Teladoc’s president of international, said, “We believe joining forces with Telecare will help us advance our mission—especially for those in regional and remote areas—by combining our technological solutions and services to support one of the leading health markets around the world.”
The acquisition follows two other purchases by Teladoc earlier this year: Catapult Health, a virtual preventive care firm acquired in February, and UpLift, a mental healthcare provider acquired in April. Catapult Health offers virtual annual exams using in-home diagnostic kits, which Teladoc aims to use to identify health conditions early and guide patients toward chronic condition management programs. The UpLift acquisition will accelerate insurance acceptance for Teladoc’s direct-to-consumer mental health platform, BetterHelp.
Teladoc’s international expansion has contributed to its financial performance. In the second quarter of 2025, global revenue grew 10% to $112.2 million, representing over 15% of the company’s consolidated revenue. CEO Chuck Divita highlighted the company’s robust international operations within its integrated care segment, which includes business-to-business virtual care offerings. He said on a July earnings call, “We continue to evaluate opportunities to increase our position across both existing and new geographies.”
Teladoc has maintained a presence in Australia for 15 years, providing virtual care services through insurers and hospitals.
Recent deployments in the country include a virtual neonatology service at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and a virtual telesurgery support system with the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
