The Vertiplane X3 operated entirely under AI control after takeoff, without human intervention.
TECHEAGLE, an Indian drone logistics company, achieved a global milestone by launching the first AI-powered fully autonomous drone delivery mission, covering over 3000 km. The demonstration was held at the Bharat Intelligence Summit 2025 in Bengaluru.
The highlight of the showcase was the Vertiplane X3, a hybrid eVTOL drone that operated entirely under AI control after takeoff with no human intervention. The mission began with a single click by Vaibhav Khandelwal, co-founder and CTO of Shadowfax Technologies, who initiated the AI-guided drone operation from Bengaluru to a drone stationed in Meghalaya.
Notably, TECHEAGLE also successfully delivered blood samples over a 3000 km distance, demonstrating the technology's real-world application for critical healthcare logistics.
The Vertiplane X3 is built for hybrid vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) operations. It has a range of 100 km per flight, a 3-5 kg payload capacity, and a maximum speed of 120 km/h. TECHEAGLE’s proprietary Physical Intelligence (PI) Engine enables fully autonomous operation, supported by real-time fleet orchestration and remote health monitoring through a cloud-based AI system.
Vikram Singh Meena, Founder and CEO of TECHEAGLE, stated, “This is not just about building drones; it's about creating autonomy in Bharat’s logistics to enhance efficiency, reduce human risk, and create jobs in DeepTech and drone logistics.” He emphasized that the technology will be critical for sectors like healthcare, ensuring faster delivery of essential supplies to underserved areas.
TECHEAGLE’s autonomous drone system addresses major logistical hurdles in Bharat, including traffic congestion, delayed deliveries, and the environmental impact of traditional methods. The shift from bike-based deliveries to eco-friendly drones promises timely and sustainable logistics solutions.
Operating Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS), the Vertiplane X3 paves the way for efficient healthcare access in remote regions, enabling faster, safer, and human-independent delivery of medical essentials from the tech capital of India, Bengaluru, to the remotest corners of the country.
