Tata 1mg Announces Major Expansion With Nearly 500 Offline Stores Nationwide
In addition to physical retail expansion, Tata 1mg plans to deepen its quick commerce capabilities, enabling faster delivery services across more cities.
Tata-backed healthtech company Tata 1mg has announced plans to expand its offline retail footprint across India, aiming to operate close to 500 stores by the end of the calendar year 2026.
The strategy marks a notable step in the company’s omnichannel growth plan. Currently, Tata 1mg has around 220 offline outlets in various cities.
Commenting on the expansion plan, Prashant Tandon, co-founder and CEO of Tata 1mg, said, “We have almost 220 stores now. With expansion, we are targeting around 280-300 stores in this financial year by March 31 (FY26). We’re almost at a store-a-day run rate now. By the end of this calendar year (2026-end), I would expect us to be closer to 500 stores, and all our stores are also omnichannel stores.”
He further added that the company is expected to grow by 26-30 percent.
In addition to physical retail expansion, Tata 1mg plans to deepen its quick commerce capabilities, enabling faster delivery services across more cities.
The firm is reportedly offering instant deliveries in seven to eight locations, and aims to expand this service footprint over the coming year.
The company also partnered with BigBasket to provide an instant medicine delivery service.
Last year, the company announced a partnership with logistics intelligence platform ClickPost to automate and optimise its medicine delivery operations using AI-driven Performance-Based Courier Allocation (PBA).
