Safdarjung Hospital Inaugurates Virtual Clinical Anatomy Lab & Modern Burns OPD
The new facilities aim to transform anatomy learning for clinicians and students through interactive 3D visualization, virtual dissections, and digital academic tools
Safdarjung Hospital has inaugurated a virtual clinical anatomy laboratory and a modern burns outpatient department (OPD) block earlier this week, introducing advanced digital learning and patient care infrastructure.
Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava inaugurated the new facilities, which aim to transform anatomy learning for clinicians and students through interactive 3D visualisation, virtual dissections, and digital academic tools, according to an official statement.
The newly opened burns OPD block offers expanded infrastructure to provide specialised care under one roof. It includes dedicated dressing suites for all age groups, a fully equipped 10-bed emergency unit, and a comprehensive physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre designed to support recovery.
The department, led by Dr. Sujata Sarabhai, Head of Burns, focuses on patient safety, comfort, and dignity. The new unit integrates advanced treatment resources to deliver holistic and compassionate care for burn survivors, the statement added.
