Regeneron Pharmaceuticals has announced plans to establish a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad as part of its strategy to expand global operations and strengthen its long-term presence in India.
The company said the Regeneron GCC is expected to become operational in the second half of 2026 and scale to hundreds of jobs over the coming years. The facility will support multiple global business functions tied to the company’s drug development and operational activities.
Regeneron, headquartered in the United States, is a biotechnology company focused on developing medicines across therapeutic areas, including oncology, immunology, ophthalmology, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, and rare disorders. The company currently has 15 approved or authorized medicines and nearly 50 pipeline candidates in development.
According to the company, the Hyderabad GCC will help expand operational capabilities while supporting Regeneron’s broader mission of advancing science-driven medicine development.
The announcement also strengthens Hyderabad’s position as a growing destination for global capability centres and life sciences operations. The city currently hosts more than 450 GCCs and offers a large talent base across biotechnology, artificial intelligence, analytics, life sciences, and digital technologies.
Regeneron said Hyderabad’s research ecosystem, infrastructure, and skilled workforce were among the factors supporting the expansion decision.
The planned facility will build on Regeneron’s existing presence in India. The company established operations in Bengaluru in 2022, which marked its initial expansion into the Indian market.
The Hyderabad GCC is expected to add new roles gradually as the company scales operations over the next few years. Regeneron has already begun publishing initial job openings related to the new centre.
The expansion comes amid continued growth in India’s GCC ecosystem, particularly within healthcare, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical sectors, where multinational companies are increasingly setting up technology, analytics, and research support hubs.
