Philips Partners with Optum Healthcare to Expand Cardiac Monitoring Access
The agreement makes Philips’ Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCOT) and Extended Holter (ePatch) available to 3.4 million Optum members across 22 states.
Royal Philips has entered a national partnership in the United States with Optum Healthcare, bringing its ambulatory and diagnostic solutions into Optum’s network. The agreement makes Philips’ Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCOT) and Extended Holter (ePatch) available to 3.4 million Optum members across 22 states.
The inclusion of these cardiac monitoring solutions aims to enable the earlier detection of cardiac conditions and facilitate timely clinical intervention. The collaboration also seeks to streamline the referral process and expand access to advanced outpatient monitoring for patients covered under Optum’s commercial, Medicare, Medicare Advantage or Managed Medicare, and Medicaid plans.
Additionally, the collaboration will expand access to Philips’ MCOT and ePatch solutions, giving clinicians diagnostic insights to accelerate cardiac care while supporting efficient care delivery for providers and value-based models for payers.
Key Benefits for Patients and Providers
According to Philips, the partnership is expected to reduce delays in specialist referrals, enhance diagnostic insights, and improve care coordination throughout the patient journey. It also supports increased patient compliance with user-friendly monitoring and diagnostic devices, which are considered important in managing chronic conditions effectively.
Julia Strandberg, Chief Business Leader, Connected Care, at Royal Philips, said:
“Today marks a great step forward in Philips’ ability to reach even more patients and help them receive the care they deserve. As a preferred in-network provider, Philips’ cardiac ambulatory monitoring services empower primary care physicians and cardiologists with actionable data that enables them to build stronger collaboration across care teams and can ultimately improve patient outcomes.”
