Pacific OneHealth Plans INR 300 Cr Micro-Hospital Network to Decentralize Care in North India

These facilities are designed to function as community-based surgical and care units, aimed at reducing the burden on larger hospitals by handling routine procedures and stabilisation cases locally.

Pacific OneHealth has unveiled a INR 300 crore plan to develop a network of micro-hospitals across North India, positioning them as an intermediate layer between clinics and tertiary care hospitals.

The company will invest INR 100 crore in the first phase to establish five micro-hospitals in Delhi NCR over the next two years. These facilities are designed to function as community-based surgical and care units, aimed at reducing the burden on larger hospitals by handling routine procedures and stabilisation cases locally.

Each micro-hospital will have a capacity of 30 to 80 beds and will offer services across specialties, including gastroenterology, gynaecology, urology, ENT, and orthopaedics. The facilities will also provide 24×7 emergency care and diagnostics.

The model focuses on short-stay, high-turnover care delivery, with nearly 70% of procedures expected to be completed as day-care or within 24 to 48 hours. This approach is intended to reduce hospital stays and improve patient throughput while maintaining access to essential surgical and diagnostic services.

Pacific OneHealth said the strategy is centered on decentralising secondary care by bringing medical services closer to residential areas, reducing the need for referrals to tertiary hospitals.

Padma Shri Dr. Jagdish Prasad, former Director General of Health Services, noted that distributed care models such as micro-hospitals are becoming necessary to address the growing burden of non-communicable diseases while improving access and affordability.

Saket Bansal, Founder of Pacific OneHealth, said the network aims to reduce dependence on large hospitals for routine care, improving system-wide efficiency.

From the third year onward, the company plans to expand the network to over 10 facilities nationwide, with a long-term goal of establishing 20 micro-hospitals over the next decade. The model is projected to impact approximately 500,000 patients by 2030.

The network will be digitally integrated through electronic health records, telemedicine, and coordinated care pathways to support continuity of care beyond hospital settings.
