Finnish Healthtech Firm Oura Forays into Indian Wearable Biz with its Latest Smart Ring

It translates health data into personalized insights through its app, while also tracking over 50 health and wellness indicators.

Finnish healthtech company ŌURA has entered the Indian wearable market with the launch of its latest Oura Ring 4.

The Oura Ring 4 is a wearable device that translates health data into personalized insights through its app, while also tracking over 50 health and wellness indicators.

The Oura Ring 4, a wearable device, transforms health data into personalized insights through the Oura App, which is compatible with iOS and Android platforms. The company reports that the ring utilizes ŌURA's smart sensing technology, incorporating advanced algorithms and research-grade sensors that adapt to individual differences, such as finger shape and skin tone.

“Its multi-wavelength sensing system and 18 signal pathways give a clearer, more reliable picture of your body, turning those signals into more precise, personalised health insights,” it added.

Citing a study conducted by the company, Doug Sweeny, Chief Marketing Officer, ŌURA, said, “The data is clear: sleep is the foundation of health, but Indians’ ultra‑connected, fast‑paced lives are at odds with getting great sleep.”

The report highlighted that India has one of the shortest average sleep durations, with Oura members sleeping just 6 hours and 28 minutes per night, about 40 minutes less than those in countries with the longest sleep times.

Further, the Oura Ring, made from lightweight titanium, features recessed sensors for 24/7 comfort, allowing users to track their sleep and health metrics without disruption.

“With guidelines recommending 7–9 hours of sleep per night for healthy adults, many Indians are building up sleep debt, a pattern shaped by the country’s multi‑country work schedules, expanding night‑time social lives, and always‑on, connected lifestyles,” it added.

The product is priced at ₹28,900 (silver and black) and ₹39,900 (stealth, brushed silver, gold, and rose gold), and its monthly membership is ₹599.00.
