The reported fundraising underscores continued investor interest in AI-driven healthcare platforms, particularly those focused on clinical decision support for physicians.

OpenEvidence, a US-based artificial intelligence platform for healthcare professionals, is reportedly planning to raise $200 million in a new funding round that could value the company at $20 billion. If completed, the deal would mark a significant increase from its reported $3.5 billion valuation in July 2025 and $12 billion valuation earlier this year.

The reported fundraising underscores continued investor interest in AI-driven healthcare platforms, particularly those focused on clinical decision support for physicians.

Over the past year, OpenEvidence has raised approximately $700 million through multiple funding rounds. In October 2025, the company secured $200 million in a Series C round at a $6 billion valuation. About three months later, it raised an additional $250 million in a Series D round, increasing its valuation to $12 billion.

The company's investors reportedly include Thrive Capital, DST Global, Sequoia, Google Ventures, Nvidia, and Mayo Clinic.

Founded in Miami, OpenEvidence develops an AI-powered platform designed to support clinical decision-making by providing evidence-based medical information to healthcare professionals. The platform draws responses from peer-reviewed sources, including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) oncology guidelines.

According to the company, the platform is used by more than 40% of physicians in the United States across over 10,000 hospitals and medical centers. Access is limited to verified medical professionals, a model intended to maintain clinical credibility while restricting the platform to licensed users.

OpenEvidence has also reported annual revenue of approximately $150 million. Based on the reported figures, a $20 billion valuation would represent a revenue multiple exceeding 130 times annual revenue, reflecting strong investor expectations for long-term growth in AI-enabled healthcare.

The reported fundraising comes as venture capital firms continue to increase investments in healthcare AI, particularly platforms that improve clinical workflows and provide evidence-based support to medical practitioners. Unlike companies operating in blockchain or digital assets, OpenEvidence is focused exclusively on AI applications for healthcare.

The company has not officially confirmed the fundraising round. Market observers will be watching whether the transaction closes and whether the reported $20 billion valuation is finalized.
