Onco-Life Cancer Centre has introduced a mobile cancer screening van to facilitate on-the-go breast cancer detection.
The newly introduced screening van uses Thermalytix, an AI-powered breast screening tool.
Reportedly, it offers non-contact painless, radiation-free screening.
Onco-Life Cancer Centre, also known as Onco-Life Hospitals, is a healthcare provider specializing in oncology services across Maharashtra.
According to the company, the screening is suitable for women of all age groups, including those under 40.
The screening results, available within two minutes, can be accessed via WhatsApp, email, or print. The van, supported by the Rotary Club of Talegaon, Dabhade, and donated by POSCO India, aims to promote early detection and awareness among women in rural and semi-urban areas of Maharashtra, ensuring they receive timely and free access to essential screenings.
Sachin Deshmukh, Managing Director of Onco Life Hospital, stated, “For those in need, we also offer financial assistance and discounted treatments.”
Additionally, the van will visit large offices and industries to provide preventive health check-ups for underprivileged workers who may otherwise delay such crucial screenings.
Covering multiple villages across the Pune District, including Ambegaon, Baramati, Bhor, Daund, Haveli, Indapur, Junnar, Khed, Mawal, Mulshi, Pune City, Purandhar, Shirur, and Velhe, the mobile unit offers free cancer check-ups such as thermal screening for breast cancer, pap smear/VIA for cervical cancer, blood tests for various cancers, and oral examinations.
In cases where abnormalities are detected through thermal screening, patients will be referred for a mammogram or sonogram at the hospital for further assessment.
Rtn Kamlesh Karle, President (2024-2025) of the Rotary Club of Talegaon, Dabhade, emphasized, “This mobile unit is dedicated to serving the underprivileged and needy individuals across the Pune district, with a special focus on rural areas. Early detection of cancer is critical, and this initiative aims to bring life-saving screening services closer to those who need them the most.”
Established in 2014, the hospital network offers cancer diagnostics and treatments, including radiation, surgical, and medical oncology.
