NSE, Tata Memorial Center Partner to Build INR 380 Cr Cancer Hospital in Navi Mumbai
With a built-up area of 2.4 lakh sq. ft. and an estimated cost of ₹380 crores, the project will include a multispecialty block and a 60-bed BMT Center, set to be the largest in India and among the largest in South Asia.
The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), through its CSR initiative under the NSE Foundation, has partnered with Tata Memorial Center (TMC) to develop a G+11-storey multispecialty cancer hospital and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Center at the Advanced Center for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Navi Mumbai.
With a built-up area of 2.4 lakh sq. ft. and an estimated cost of INR 380 crores, the project will include a multispecialty block and a 60-bed BMT Center, set to be the largest in India and among the largest in South Asia.
The hospital is expected to serve nearly 1.3 lakh outpatients annually and conduct over 600 BMT procedures each year. Construction, to be undertaken by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in EPC mode, is expected to conclude by July 2027.
The facility will provide general and super-specialty services for cancer patients with co-morbidities and will offer lifesaving treatments either free or at highly subsidized costs. It will also function as the Out-Patient Department (OPD) for the entire ACTREC campus, which is expanding with three additional buildings.
At the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony held on October 5, Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, NSE, said, “NSE is honoured to partner with Tata Memorial Center in this landmark initiative. We aim to support the healthcare needs of cancer patients and their families, and to make a meaningful contribution to the fight against cancer in India. We believe this project will have a lasting impact on the lives of thousands of patients each year.”
The NSE Board approved the project in March 2023, with the Memorandum of Understanding signed with TMC soon after. The project received its final Environmental Clearance on September 11, 2025, and the Commencement Certificate from CIDCO on October 1, 2025.
Dr Sudeep Gupta, Director, Tata Memorial Center, stated, “The new hospital block will address a critical gap in specialized services for treating comorbidities such as cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, renal, and gastroenterological issues in cancer patients. A key highlight is the inclusion of a 60-bedded Bone Marrow Transplant unit, which will make ACTREC one of the largest Centers for BMT in South Asia.”
