Nokia & BeeHealthy Bring Network-Based Verification to Digital Healthcare

Through Nokia's Network as Code platform, BeeHealthy will introduce Number Verification for patient log-ins and bookings.

Nokia, a Finnish multinational technology company focused on telecommunications, and BeeHealthy, a Finland-based digital healthcare company, have entered into a commercial agreement to integrate Nokia’s Network as Code technology into BeeHealthy’s digital healthcare applications, reducing dependence on SMS one-time passwords.

The integration is designed to make patient log-ins and appointment bookings quicker and more seamless while addressing security and privacy requirements in healthcare.

BeeHealthy, owned by Mehiläinen, provides a configurable, white-label SaaS platform for healthcare providers, veterinary care organisations, social-care providers and insurers across markets including Finland, Sweden, Germany, Estonia, the Netherlands and the UAE.

The platform supports organisations in delivering consumer-facing digital healthcare services.

Through Nokia's Network as Code platform, BeeHealthy will introduce Number Verification for patient log-ins and bookings.

The technology operates in the background without requiring users to manually enter an SMS code, with the verification process typically taking less than a second.

The partnership also marks BeeHealthy as Nokia's first commercial customer from the healthcare sector for its Network as Code platform.

Nokia's platform enables enterprises to access and integrate network capabilities through APIs, creating new opportunities for operators to offer network services beyond traditional connectivity.

In addition to Number Verification, BeeHealthy is integrating APIs for SIM Swap and Number Recycling to help prevent account takeover fraud and maintain customer records.

Location Verification is expected to support appointment management and potentially reduce missed appointments, while KYC Match will help validate new users against trusted network data in select markets.

Nokia and BeeHealthy are also exploring Quality on Demand capabilities for latency-sensitive digital healthcare services, including video consultations.

The collaboration highlights how telecom network capabilities are increasingly being applied to digital healthcare, where secure access, identity verification and reliable connectivity remain critical to patient and provider experiences.
