Narayana Health Adopts Saviynt Identity Cloud to Strengthen Security and Compliance
The deployment also aims to optimize costs and accelerate the onboarding of healthcare professionals.
Narayana Health has implemented the Saviynt Identity Cloud to modernize identity governance, enhance data security, and strengthen regulatory compliance across its hospitals and clinics nationwide.
The deployment also aims to optimize costs and accelerate the onboarding of healthcare professionals.
Founded by cardiac surgeon Dr. Devi Shetty, Narayana Health operates 21 hospitals, five heart centres, and 19 primary-care facilities in India and abroad. The network manages over 18,000 identities across multiple Active Directory domains and 17 critical applications, including its proprietary ATHMA electronic health record (EHR) system—a scale that has posed operational and security challenges.
Saviynt said the first phase of the implementation went live within three months. The healthcare-specific Saviynt Identity Cloud solution has automated user provisioning and deprovisioning, enforced Separation of Duties (SoD) policies, and streamlined governance workflows. It integrates seamlessly with Narayana Health’s ATHMA platform, supporting a cloud-first model that also optimizes costs and accelerates onboarding for healthcare staff.
Kumar K V, Chief Information Security Officer at Narayana Health, said, “In healthcare, safeguarding patient data is as vital as delivering quality care. With Saviynt Identity Cloud, we’ve built a blueprint for modern healthcare security that automates processes, reduces risk, and ensures regulatory compliance across our network.”
Karthik Satish Kumar, Vice President – Customer Office, Asia Pacific & Japan at Saviynt, highlighted the operational benefits, stating, “By simplifying governance and access for healthcare professionals, we free them up to concentrate on what matters most: patient care.”
The deployment positions Narayana Health among healthcare providers leveraging AI-driven identity security solutions to address increasing regulatory requirements and data protection challenges.
The implementation of Saviynt Identity Cloud demonstrates a growing trend among Indian healthcare networks adopting cloud-first identity governance solutions to balance operational efficiency, cost management, and stringent security standards.
