MP Govt Clears ₹29,540 Cr Infra Plan; Healthcare Among Key Focus Areas

The revised amount replaces the earlier sanctioned ₹714.91 crore. Additional allocations are expected to support the upgrading of district hospitals, expansion of diagnostic and critical care facilities, and the rollout of Health and wellness centers.

The Madhya Pradesh cabinet has approved a revised allocation of ₹763.40 crore for the establishment of an integrated medical education and healthcare facility in Budni, Sehore district. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Bhopal.

The revised amount replaces the earlier sanctioned ₹714.91 crore. The project will include a medical college with 100 MBBS seats, a 500-bed affiliated hospital, a nursing college with 60 seats, and a paramedical college with 60 seats.

The facility is aimed at expanding both healthcare access and medical education capacity in the region.

This approval is part of a broader ₹29,540 crore package cleared by the state cabinet, which includes investments in infrastructure and social sector development. Within this, healthcare remains a key focus area, particularly in strengthening services in rural and underserved districts.

Additional allocations are expected to support the upgrading of district hospitals, expansion of diagnostic and critical care facilities, and the rollout of Health and Wellness Centres.

These centres will focus on preventive care and early detection of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.

The decisions indicate a targeted effort to address gaps in healthcare infrastructure, workforce capacity, and access to services across Madhya Pradesh.

Recently, under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh approved key health investments in April 2026. These include ₹79.16 crore to expand postgraduate seats at Gandhi Medical College, ₹174.80 crore for a super-speciality hospital expansion in Rewa, and ₹80.41 crore to electrify over 38,000 anganwadi centres to support maternal and child healthcare.
