This endeavour is poised to transform healthcare services by facilitating digital health solutions in various healthcare establishments, spanning private clinics, minor hospitals, and laboratories within the locality.

Mizoram has become the inaugural state to operationalise an ABDM Microsite in its capital city, Aizawl. This initiative is to enable digital health offerings across all healthcare facilities, encompassing private clinics, small hospitals, and laboratories in the region.

This development follows the National Health Authority's (NHA) declaration in July regarding the introduction of the ambitious 100 Microsites project across the country. The core objective of these microsites is to create compact ecosystems within defined geographical regions, achieving comprehensive ABDM integration and ensuring the digitisation of the entire patient experience.

Emphasising the significance of the project, the CEO of NHA said, "The 100 Microsite project under ABDM is a vital initiative to connect with numerous small and medium-scale healthcare providers from the private sector. The Microsites concept was conceived to propel nationwide healthcare digitization endeavors. The diligent efforts of the Mizoram team have led to Aizawl being designated as India's inaugural ABDM Microsite. NHA anticipates similar enthusiastic responses from other state teams."

ABDM Microsites are geographically defined areas where targeted outreach efforts are concentrated to onboard small and medium-scale private healthcare providers. State Mission Directors of ABDM will primarily execute these Microsites, with financial resources and comprehensive guidance furnished by NHA.

An interfacing agency under this program will employ an on-ground team to engage with healthcare providers in the designated area. This team will heighten awareness about the advantages of ABDM, facilitate the inclusion of service providers into the core ABDM registries, and promote the utilisation of ABDM-enabled digital solutions for regular clinical documentation.

Betsy Zothanpari Sailo, Additional Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Mizoram, said, "With digital services accessible at our healthcare facilities and secure access to digital health records, patients stand to gain the most. Our teams painstakingly studied the ABDM enablement process and have selected an implementation partner to operationalize our inaugural Microsite in Aizawl. We are fully prepared to undertake implementation in a mission-oriented manner and ensure that the Aizawl Microsite lives up to its role as India's first ABDM Microsite."

Through this microsite, patients will be able to synchronise health records produced at these facilities with their Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHAs) and access as well as share these records via any ABDM-enabled Personal Health Record (PHR) application on their mobile devices.

NHA had previously overseen microsites pilot initiatives in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Surat. Insights and experiences garnered from these pilots have been seamlessly integrated into the overarching structure of the 100 Microsites project under ABDM.

In addition to Mizoram's pioneering efforts, other states, including Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh, have also made noteworthy strides in the implementation of ABDM Microsites. The rollout of additional Microsites is anticipated within the coming weeks.
