Maharashtra CM Unveils NewEra Hospitals’ 300-Bed Facility in Nagpur

It brings together robotic surgery, advanced diagnostic imaging, AI-enabled patient monitoring, and specialised clinical services.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has recently inaugurated NewEra Hospitals’ 300-bed facility in Wardhaman Nagar, Nagpur.

The hospital brings together robotic surgery, advanced diagnostic imaging, AI-enabled patient monitoring, and specialised clinical services.

The new facility expands NEWERA Hospitals’ presence in Nagpur and is intended to serve patients from Vidarbha and other parts of Central India.

Sharing in a social post, Maharashtra CM said, “The newly inaugurated, state-of-the-art NewEra Hospital in Wardhaman Nagar is equipped with modern technology and infrastructure that meet global standards. Nagpur’s emergence as a medical hub will gain further momentum through NewEra Hospital’s advanced super-speciality facilities, strengthening India’s growing stature as a global medical tourism destination.”

The latest facility is equipped with single-port and multi-port robotic surgical systems, an AI-enabled 3T MRI system, an AI-enabled 256-slice CT scanner and Hologic 3D mammography. According to the hospital, its single-port robotic surgery programme includes a system it describes as India’s first of its kind.

Alongside the new hospital inauguration, the CM also unveiled AMS EDGE Robotic Intelligence systems aimed at bringing next-generation surgical technology to New Era Hospital.

The introduction includes both single-port and multi-port robotic surgery systems.

The single-port robotic surgery platform is designed to enable surgeons to perform selected procedures through a single access point.

The suitability of robotic-assisted surgery depends on the procedure and the patient’s clinical condition.

The facility also incorporates AI-based monitoring systems in operating theatres and intensive care units to support patient monitoring and clinical assessment. Robotic physiotherapy and rehabilitation services form part of its broader care offering.

Commenting on the new facility, Dr Anand Sancheti, Managing Director and Co-Founder, NEWERA Hospitals said, “From our first facility to this 300-bedded flagship hospital at Wardhaman Nagar, our journey reflects our commitment to continuous growth, innovation and patient well-being. This hospital is an important step towards bringing advanced medical capabilities closer to home for patients across Central India. As we move forward, our focus remains on combining technology with clinical expertise and compassionate care.”

The hospital group began operations in 2016 with a 50-bed healthcare facility and has since expanded its network to five facilities across multiple locations spanning Mumbai and Nagpur.

The latest inauguration adds to Nagpur’s healthcare infrastructure, with the new facility bringing specialised treatment services and technology-enabled diagnostics to the region.

It builds on the hospital group's earlier expansion plan to increase its bed capacity.

Earlier this year, the hospital received investment from Azim Premji Group to expand its capacity from 350 to 800 beds.

Shairng his thoughts Dr Nidheesh Mishra, Director and Co-Founder, NEWERA Hospitals said, “The new facility brings together capabilities that can support informed clinical decisions across multiple specialties, including cardiac care. We look forward to extending the benefits of these advancements to more patients across the region.”
