Maha CM Fadnavis Calls Big Digital, AI Revamp in State Healthcare

The CM also proposed a new health infra corporation, real-time hospital data systems under Ayushman Bharat and state schemes, and a separate recruitment board for health jobs, prioritizing decentralized, tech-enabled patient services.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a sweeping expansion of digital health services and AI integration across the state’s public healthcare system.

At a review meeting in Vidhan Bhavan, he directed officials to migrate key health schemes to the ‘Aaple Sarkar’ portal and fast-track tech-led infrastructure upgrades.

“Enhance artificial intelligence integration in healthcare services and simplify the procurement process for medicines and equipment,” Fadnavis instructed.

Maharashtra Govt's Latest Developments

Months back, the Maharashtra government announced that all school students will receive personalized health cards. The cards will be updated after regular school health check-ups. Further, a new digital health app will store each student’s health data.

The proposed app will serve as a centralized platform to schedule health check-ups, track student health records, and facilitate medical care. The initiative is part of the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), or National Child Health Programme, which aims to provide systematic and timely medical care to students across the state.

Likewise, in another instance, CM Devendra Fadnavis announced plans to establish a comprehensive healthcare network across the state to ensure that quality healthcare services reach even the most remote and underserved regions.

“Maharashtra is emerging as a hub for quality healthcare, but our goal now is to build a system where even the person living in the most remote village has access to the same standard of care,” he said.

Fadnavis also stressed the importance of leveraging technology and partnerships with medical professionals to extend services to the last mile.
