Fadnavis also stressed the importance of leveraging technology and partnerships with medical professionals to extend services to the last mile.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday announced plans to establish a comprehensive healthcare network across the state to ensure that quality healthcare services reach even the most remote and underserved regions.
Speaking at the 22nd Mumbai LIVE Endoscopy Course hosted by Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, Fadnavis emphasized the government’s commitment to healthcare accessibility.
“Maharashtra is emerging as a hub for quality healthcare, but our goal now is to build a system where even the person living in the most remote village has access to the same standard of care,” he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted the need to increase the healthcare workforce in the state to support this vision.
“In the last two years, Maharashtra has launched 10 new medical colleges to build a robust pool of doctors and healthcare personnel who can serve across urban and rural regions,” he said.
Fadnavis also stressed the importance of leveraging technology and partnerships with medical professionals to extend services to the last mile.
Dr Tarang Gianchandani, Group CEO of HN Reliance Foundation and Reliance Foundation HealthCare Initiatives, expressed support for platforms like the Mumbai LIVE Endoscopy Course.
“We are proud to promote initiatives that advance clinical excellence and medical education on a global level,” she said.
She noted that the hospital is actively adopting technology-driven and AI-enabled protocols to improve patient outcomes across socio-economic groups.
Dr Amit Maydeo, Chairman of Gastrosciences at the hospital, pointed to the rising global incidence of digestive diseases. He emphasized that many conditions can now be treated without surgery with the latest GI endoscopic technologies.
“Early-stage cancers and other illnesses can now be managed using minimally invasive techniques, improving recovery and reducing patient burden,” he added.
The event showcased Maharashtra’s broader commitment to strengthening its healthcare infrastructure and integrating advanced technology to serve diverse populations across the state.
