As part of its expansion plan, the hospital seeks to expand to a 1,200-bed hospital platform over the next 24 months and add more than 200 clinicians to its network during the same period.

The Bengaluru-based Magnet Hospitals has announced the launch of a doctor-led hospital network across Bengaluru with an initial portfolio of eight city hospitals backed by an initial investment of INR 224 Crore.

Founded by healthcare leader Dr. Dinesh Madhavan, along with a team of healthcare entrepreneurs, Magnet Hospitals aims to establish a new healthcare ecosystem where doctors and nurses play a larger role in shaping patient care not only as medical professionals but also as co-owners of the organisation.

As per the healthcare organisation, out of the total investment, INR 115 crore will be contributed by Founder and Managing Director Dinesh Madhavan and INR 109 crore by partners Vijay Prasad and Nanjundaiah.

The network brings together over 150 clinicians and is focused on expanding healthcare access and improving clinical outcomes.

As per reports, the network has begun operations with eight hospitals across Bengaluru, located in Langford Town, Electronic City, Jayanagar, Arakere, Jigani, Jalahalli, Mahalakshmi Layout, and Nagarbhavi. The organisation is further expanding its footprint with upcoming greenfield hospitals in Kalyan Nagar and Varthur.

As part of its expansion plan, the hospital seeks to expand to a 1,200-bed hospital platform over the next 24 months and add more than 200 clinicians to its network during the same period.

Speaking on the launch, Dr Dinesh Madhavan, Managing Director, Magnet Hospitals, said, “Healthcare has always been built on trust. Today, patients feel disconnected from the care they receive. Magnet Hospitals is founded on these four pillars, viz, Trust, Transparency, Compassion & Clinical Outcomes. For the first time, doctors and nurses will be co-owners, thereby creating a healthcare ecosystem where every clinical decision is based on what’s best for the patient. We will leverage Made-in-India technologies and medicines, thereby helping reduce healthcare costs while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence.”

In addition, the network is targeting facilities with 80 to 100 beds to deliver secondary and tertiary care closer to patients' homes. To support its next phase of growth, Magnet is planning to raise an additional INR 50 to 400 crore.

The company intends to focus on expanding its presence in Bengaluru over the next 30 to 36 months before exploring opportunities in other Indian cities.

Madhavan noted that the healthcare organisation plans to engage with social-impact investors who prioritise clinical outcomes alongside financial returns.

Further, the hospital network is also investing in technology-enabled healthcare delivery, partnering with leading medical technology organisations and implementing an Agentic AI platform to enhance operational efficiency, streamline healthcare processes and improve the overall patient experience.

As per reports, the network plans to invest over $1 million in Agentic AI, alongside clinician training under its Magnet Clinical Excellence Programme.

Explaining the role of AI, Madhavan said, “It is not going to autonomously do anything, but will be an enabler. The human interface will still continue because in healthcare, without human interface it is very difficult.”
