This initiative aims to upskill over 100 surgeons across its facilities in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
Additionally, the program will be extended to upcoming KIMS hospitals in Thane, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
The program is focused on enhancing clinical expertise in General Surgery, Oncology, Urology-Gynaecology, and Endoscopy. It incorporates real-time, interactive communication between operating surgeons, trainers, and remote experts to support surgical education across locations.
The training framework includes structured modules such as didactic sessions, hands-on practice, and observerships tailored to meet the specific needs of practicing surgeons.
Commenting on the initiative, Mandeep Singh Kumar, MD and VP of Medtronic India, said, “India needs more skilled clinicians. This collaboration combines our training frameworks and KIMS’ clinical depth to improve procedural skills and clinical understanding. The goal is to close critical gaps and strengthen value-based care across systems.”
Senior faculty from KIMS Hospitals will conduct specialized workshops covering a range of surgical interventions. With its remote-access model, the platform allows continuous learning regardless of the surgeon’s location.
Dr. Bhaskar Rao Bollineni, Founder and Chairman of KIMS Group of Hospitals, stated, “We’re building a stronger surgical training ecosystem with technology at the center. By combining remote access with focused modules, we equip young surgeons with the right tools and guidance to deliver high-quality care.”
