India to Host First-Ever Digital Health Expo Under Ayushman Bharat Mission

The event will be organised by the National Health Authority (NHA) under the Union Health Ministry as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).

India is set to organize its maiden digital health expo to highlight advancements in healthcare technology, with the event planned on the lines of major industry shows such as those in the automobile and defense sectors.

The National Health Authority (NHA), under the Union health ministry, will conduct the event as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Launched in September 2021, ABDM is building a nationwide digital health framework, anchored by the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID, a unique identification number for every citizen.

According to an official aware of the plans, the expo will coincide with the anniversary of ABDM, celebrated as ‘Arogya Manthan’.

“This expo is a chance for people from all over the health sector to show their innovative work in digital solutions," the official said. “It will prove that India is not just a user of digital health technology, but a global leader and innovator.”

As per reports, more than 200 digital health companies and government initiatives are expected to participate. “The health companies have been given a heads-up about the event. The planning is still in the early stages, but we are moving forward,” the source said.

MediBuddy co-founder and chief executive officer Satish Kannan said the expo is a significant platform to present India’s capabilities. “The expo’s focus on AI (artificial intelligence) and digital health innovations resonates with our own approach of leveraging clinical AI and data-driven tools to deliver personalized healthcare at scale.”

Kannan added that such gatherings are crucial for the sector as they promote knowledge sharing, spur innovation, and help scale solutions to underserved areas, while allowing stakeholders to align with national health priorities.
