IIT Madras & LSU Health New Orleans Collaborate on Healthcare Innovation

The collaboration combines IIT Madras’ expertise in technology innovation with LSU Health New Orleans’ research and clinical strengths.

Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has partnered with LSU Health New Orleans to develop and deploy new technologies aimed at addressing healthcare gaps.

The collaboration combines IIT Madras’ expertise in technology innovation with LSU Health New Orleans’ research and clinical strengths.

According to a release, joint teams will focus on genomic and health studies while working on scalable tools such as AI-powered applications, affordable diagnostics, and smart medical devices.

The initiative also includes an exchange program to support student and faculty collaboration, with emphasis on research and entrepreneurship.

“This collaboration supports our commitment to pursuing National Cancer Institute (NCI) Designation for the LSU LCMC Health Cancer Centre. By combining our clinical expertise with IIT Madras’ technology innovations, we are building a powerful mechanism to move discoveries from bench to bedside and improve health outcomes in Louisiana and worldwide,” said Steve Nelson, Chancellor, LSU Health New Orleans.

“Bringing our technology-driven innovation together with LSU Health New Orleans’ research and clinical presence in Louisiana and the Gulf Coast establishes a pathway for translating ideas into global health solutions,” said V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras.
