Jaipur’s IIHMR University has recently launched its first-ever certificate course on digital health for aspiring professionals interested in the digital healthcare ecosystem.
With this move, IIHMR seeks to develop healthcare professionals with an understanding of digital health innovations. This will help in enhancing the performance of health systems while keeping availability, affordability, and quality of healthcare services as top priorities.
Sharing thoughts, Dr PR Sodani, President, IIHMR University, said, "Considering the current cleft between public healthcare in the country and the digital healthcare ecosystem, IIHMR University understands the strong need to develop healthcare professionals with an understanding of digital health innovations to promote remote & advanced healthcare quality and accessibility.’’
He further noted that the course offers cutting-edge technologies for its diverse alumni network and other public healthcare working professionals.
IIHMR’s Digital Health course is a six-month-long immersive program, which has been approved by the advisory board at the School of Digital Health.
Further, it was designed and conceptualized by the faculty members at IIHMR University.
Considering the geographical barriers, the IIHMR’s Digital Health course will be conducted in online mode. However, participants wishing to attend discussions on campus can contact the officials at the university.
Introducing the details of the course, Dr Swapnil Gadhave, faculty & course coordinator, IIHMR University, shared that this immersive certificate course will aid students in embarking on a comprehensive journey and equip them with core competencies in the integration of the digital landscape with the healthcare ecosystem.
The curriculum will be conducted through a mix of training methods, including lectures-cum-discussions, case discussion/analysis, project work, term papers, and assignments.
The online delivery format is the platform for students to engage in thought-provoking discussions with the faculty and peers, propelling them toward a future of growth and excellence.
In a similar development, UNICEF India, the International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) Delhi, and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) have jointly launched a comprehensive health course.
The collaboration sought to address the growing need for digital health education and bridge the gap in training among healthcare professionals.
The 'Digital Health Enterprise Planning Course' is a 10-week online program designed to equip healthcare professionals with the skills necessary to support the digital transformation of the healthcare sector.
It begins with understanding the intersection of digital technology and healthcare, progressing through planning national digital health systems, integrating digital interventions, executing enterprise plans, and addressing governance and regulatory issues.
The course concludes with a module on the future of digital health, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
