Manipal Hospitals Appoints Col Dr Sunil Rao as Regional Head Medical Services for North & West Cluster

Prior to joining Manipal Hospitals, he was associated with Sahyadri Hospitals where he served in leadership roles.

Manipal Hospitals has appointed Col Dr Sunil Rao as Regional Head Medical Services for the North and West Cluster. In this role, he will oversee medical administration across the cluster.

Col Dr Sunil Rao brings extensive experience in healthcare leadership and hospital administration. Over the course of his professional career, he has been associated with organisations including Sahyadri Hospitals, Dr D Y Patil Vidyapeeth Medical College Hospital and Research Centre Pimpri Pune, and Gujarat Cancer Society.

During his tenure across these institutions, he held several senior leadership roles focused on hospital operations, medical administration and multi-location healthcare management. His work has included driving clinical quality, operational efficiency and patient outcomes.

Prior to joining Manipal Hospitals, he was associated with Sahyadri Hospitals where he served in leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer, Group Chief Operating Officer and Director Medical Services, and Group Medical Director.

He has also served as Chief Executive Officer at Dr D Y Patil Medical College Hospital and Research Centre Pimpri Pune, and at Gujarat Cancer Society.

Earlier in his career, he held the position of Senior Vice President at Columbia Asia Hospitals  where he was responsible for profit and loss management for six hospitals.
