Hiranandani Hosp, RED.Health Launch Central Mumbai’s First 5G-Enabled ALS Ambulance Fleet

The newly launched ambulances are equipped with high-speed 5G connectivity, advanced patient monitoring, real-time data transmission, remote consultations with specialists, and instant access to medical records.

In a major upgrade to Mumbai’s emergency medical infrastructure, Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital, Powai, and RED.Health have rolled out Central Mumbai’s first 5G-enabled Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance service.

The newly launched ambulances are equipped with high-speed 5G connectivity, advanced patient monitoring, real-time data transmission, remote consultations with specialists, and instant access to medical records.

Staffed by trained paramedics, these units aim to cut response times, improve on-the-move medical decisions during the critical golden hour, and deliver seamless emergency care from home to hospital.

“There is a golden hour, a crucial period immediately after a medical emergency when life-saving intervention offers the highest survival chance. This 5G capability will allow real-time vitals transmission, remote monitoring, and specialist consultations during transit,” noted Dr Sameer Kulkarni, CEO, Dr L.H Hiranandani Hospital.

The service also introduced a dedicated emergency helpline (8424007007) for ambulance bookings and emergencies.

Sharing thoughts, Pradeep Chavan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mumbai (Traffic-Eastern Division), said, “This is a commendable step. Such advanced services can make a life-saving difference in critical road emergencies by improving response and diagnosis time.”

The 5G ambulances will be strategically positioned across Central Mumbai for rapid deployment, minimizing delays caused by traffic congestion and ensuring seamless hospital integration during emergencies.

''Today marks a moment of immense significance in Mumbai’s emergency healthcare history. The launch of Central Mumbai’s first 5G-enabled ALS ambulance service represents a powerful breakthrough in emergency medical technology,” said Prabhdeep Singh, Founder & CEO, RED.Health.
