The new critical care block, being developed at the Jol Sapper campus near the district headquarters, is being constructed at an estimated cost of around INR 35 Cr.
According to the Chief Minister, the facility is expected to become operational during the first week of July, adding advanced critical care capacity to the institution.
As part of the broader healthcare modernisation effort, Sukhu also announced that decades-old diagnostic machines and medical equipment at Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla, and Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College would be replaced with newer and more advanced systems.
