UP Deputy CM Proposes Model Hospital with Modern Technology to Raise Healthcare Standards

Uttar Pradesh to become a major hub for healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, and biotechnology.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has recently called for the establishment of a model hospital aimed at setting benchmarks for healthcare quality, affordability, technology, and patient care across the state.

Deputy CM Pathak stated the proposed model hospital could serve as a benchmark for healthcare institutions across the state.

He said, “The state’s healthcare expansion should ultimately be judged by whether people, irrespective of their location or ability to pay, could access quality treatment.”

He further emphasised that healthcare should not be viewed only as a growing economic sector but as a public responsibility focused on serving people.

The event also saw participation from Amit Kumar Ghosh, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical & Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh; G.N. Singh, Advisor to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Former DGCI; and Dr Upasna Arora, MD, Yashoda Super Specialty Hospital, among other healthcare officials and industry stakeholders.

Highlighting the relevance of technology, Advisor to the Chief Minister and former DGCI Dr. GN Singh stated that Uttar Pradesh has the potential to become a major hub for healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, and biotechnology.

He called for closer integration between research, clinical capabilities, manufacturing, regulation, and technology. Singh also highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence, digital health, and advanced diagnostic technologies to improve healthcare delivery.

Further, Dr Upasana Arora, MD, Yashoda Super Specialty Hospitals, highlighted the need to strengthen emergency and critical care, diagnostics, and clinical capabilities.

The discussions also highlighted the role of digital health, precision care, healthcare technology, and innovation in strengthening healthcare delivery.

Further, it also focused on public-private partnership collaboration, technology-led solutions, and equitable access to quality healthcare to build a more resilient and inclusive healthcare ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh.
