HealthKey Acquires Syndi Health to Strengthen AI-Led Personalized Healthcare Solutions

The acquisition will see HealthKey integrate Syndi’s technology into its digital healthcare marketplace, significantly boosting the platform’s personalisation capabilities.
UK-based healthtech platform HealthKey has acquired Syndi Health, a strategic move aimed at enhancing its AI-powered personalized healthcare services, with a particular focus on employer wellbeing programs.
The acquisition will see HealthKey integrate Syndi’s technology into its digital healthcare marketplace, significantly boosting the platform’s personalisation capabilities.
''This acquisition combines two companies with similar roots and fully aligned missions,” said David Joerring, CEO of HealthKey. “We have both been focused on supporting people with better access to healthcare through technology, making preventative care more personalised and affordable.”
Founded in 2020 and backed by Entrepreneur First, Syndi Health specializes in AI-driven health assessment tools that match users with the most appropriate digital health services for their needs.
The deal, finalized in May, underscores the growing demand for more tailored, preventative care solutions as organizations worldwide grapple with rising mental health challenges and employee wellbeing costs.
Syndi Health’s co-founder and CEO, Ben Lakey, said, “Together, we’re going to empower organisations to support the diverse needs of their members and employees, guiding them toward precisely the right solutions for their individual situations. The scale of options we can now offer our customers and end-users is significant.”
Joerring further noted that the integrated platform will simplify decision-making for individuals navigating healthcare choices. “For someone wondering if they should use a meditation app or consult a therapist, or which digital service would best suit their current needs, our combined technology will deliver clear, clinically-validated recommendations.”
As part of the agreement, Lakey will join HealthKey as Director of Operations, bringing with him extensive experience from both healthtech and medtech sectors.
The deal also expands HealthKey’s employer partnerships, integrating existing clients from both companies, including workplace benefits providers like Each Person and JustGo, into a consolidated offering.
The acquisition signals a broader trend in healthcare, with tech-led, personalised, and data-driven solutions rapidly reshaping how organisations approach employee wellbeing and preventative care.
