Healthium Medtech Expands Sri City Manufacturing to Strengthen India’s Precision Medtech Ecosystem

Healthium Medtech’s monthly production capacity will increase from 1.3 lakh dozens to 2.8 lakh dozens.

Healthium Medtech has expanded its manufacturing presence at Sri City with the inauguration of a new facility, marking a significant step in strengthening domestic production of precision medtech devices.

The expansion has been positioned as a move to reduce import dependence while improving access to world-class medical technology for patients in India and overseas.

Healthium Medtech, a Bangalore-based global medical devices company, has been operating at Sri City since 2012 through its Special Economic Zone unit, where it has manufactured surgical sutures and meshes for more than a decade.

Over the years, the facility has become an important part of Healthium Medtech’s production network, serving both domestic and international markets.

The latest expansion builds on this long-standing presence and reflects the company’s response to rising demand for advanced medtech solutions driven by increased surgical volumes, expanding healthcare infrastructure, and greater focus on quality medical devices.

Anish Bafna, Chief Executive Officer of Healthium Medtech, said, “By manufacturing precision medical devices locally, the company will reduce dependence on imports and ensure access to world-class technology for patients in India and abroad.”

With the commissioning of the expanded facility, Healthium Medtech’s monthly production capacity will increase from 1.3 lakh dozens to 2.8 lakh dozens.

The Sri City plant will now manufacture a wider range of precision medtech products, including wound closure devices, surgical sutures, meshes, and other advanced medical devices used across multiple clinical specialities.

The scale-up is expected to improve supply chain resilience while maintaining stringent quality standards required in regulated global markets.

Welcoming the expansion, Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, MD of Sri City, said, “We are delighted to welcome Healthium Medtech’s expansion in Sri City. This expansion strengthens our growing ecosystem for healthcare manufacturing and resonates with our vision of making Sri City a hub for innovation and global competitiveness. I congratulate Anish Bafna and his team on this milestone and extend my best wishes for their continued success in serving India and the world,” he remarked.

India’s medtech sector has been witnessing steady growth, supported by policy initiatives such as Make in India, production-linked incentives, and an increasing emphasis on local manufacturing of critical healthcare products.

Against this backdrop, Healthium Medtech’s expansion is seen as part of a broader shift toward building domestic capabilities in precision medtech, improving affordability, and ensuring consistent access to high-quality medical devices for healthcare systems globally.
