Health startup Healthify has launched an upgraded version of its AI assistant Ria, introducing real-time conversational capabilities through voice and camera interactions.

The new features allow users to log meals, track workouts, and receive personalized health insights seamlessly.

Powered by OpenAI’s technology, Ria now supports more than 50 languages, including 14 Indian languages, and understands mixed-language inputs like Hinglish or Spanglish. The assistant can provide overviews of health metrics for a day, week, or month, aggregating data from fitness trackers, sleep monitors, and glucose devices to generate insights on exercise, sleep, readiness, and glucose spikes.

Users can also point their cameras at food items to get nutritional information and log meals instantly, a feature similar to Google Gemini’s Live Conversation mode. Healthify demonstrated the assistant working with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, allowing real-time interactions and camera-based food logging.

The update aims to create a persistent, conversational AI layer that helps users maintain healthy habits while simplifying the process of tracking nutrition and workouts. Healthify plans to integrate Ria into user onboarding to collect unstructured data and provide personalized suggestions over time.

Ria is also being extended to conversations with coaches and nutritionists. During calls, the assistant can pull relevant data, answer questions, and transcribe sessions for insights. Healthify trained Ria on years of conversational data between users and coaches to ensure advice is grounded and accurate.

Apart from Healthify, competitors like Alma, Cal AI, MyFitnessPal, and Ladder have introduced voice or image-based food logging. Healthify’s edge lies in combining live conversation, multi-platform data aggregation, and AI trained on historical coaching data. The assistant can now access users’ photo galleries to detect unlogged meals automatically.

Healthify, which has over 45 million registered users, is launching a U.S. AI plan at $20 per month, featuring the updated Ria assistant and personalized meal planning. The company also plans partnerships around GLP-1–aided weight-loss programs and collaborations with health tracking device makers. CEO Tushar Vashisht indicated a potential new funding round, citing strong U.S. adoption and growth.
