HCA Healthcare Opens First Global Capability Center in Hyderabad

The center, spread across more than 4 lakh sq. ft. over four floors in Raidurg, was inaugurated on Wednesday by Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu.

U.S.-based HCA Healthcare has launched its first global capability center (GCC) in Hyderabad, marking a $75 million investment and plans to employ 3,000 people by 2026.

The center, spread across more than 4 lakh sq. ft. over four floors in Raidurg, was inaugurated on Wednesday by Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu.

The facility will initially employ 1,300 employees this year, with the headcount expected to increase to 3,000 by next year. HCA Healthcare India will focus on recruiting and developing talent across multiple lines of business, including IT, supply chain, procurement, human resources, finance, and accounting.

“Hyderabad is the gateway to a complete global ecosystem of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and life sciences. With world-class hospitals, over 800 pharma companies producing APIs, drugs, biologics, specialty medicines, and vaccines, and the presence of leading global life sciences GCCs driving research and development and innovation, Telangana has built one of the finest healthcare infrastructures in the world,” said Mr. Sridhar Babu.

Expanding Operations with Technology and Analytics

HCA Healthcare operates a network of 192 hospitals and 2,500 care sites across the U.S. and the U.K., employing over 316,000 professionals and reporting $70 billion in revenue. The Hyderabad GCC will initially focus on IT and finance operations, with plans to expand into human resources, artificial intelligence, and analytics.

Senior Vice President of HCA Healthcare’s Global Capability Network, Emily Duncan, and Hyderabad Center Head Atul Kapoor, who attended the inauguration, stated that the facility currently has approximately 1,100 employees. “The headcount is set to touch 1,300 by this year-end with prospects of more investments beyond the $75 million, depending on need as the firm looks to double the number of employees at the facility next year,” they said.

Over time, the 4.28-lakh sq. ft. facility is expected to take on multiple tasks beyond its initial operations, supporting innovation and operational efficiency across HCA Healthcare’s global network.
