Union Health Minister J P Nadda will unveil the platform, developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), to support clinics and primary healthcare facilities with an affordable digital management solution.
The Centre will launch e-Sushrut Clinic, a lightweight, cloud-based Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), on June 29 to help small healthcare facilities digitize routine operations.
Union Health Minister J P Nadda will unveil the platform, developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), to support clinics and primary healthcare facilities with an affordable digital management solution.
Designed for small clinics, primary health centers, health and wellness centers, sub-centers, and private outpatient facilities, the platform seeks to address the limitations of conventional hospital management software, which officials say is often too expensive and complex for smaller healthcare providers.
The cloud-based HMIS automates key administrative and clinical functions, including patient registration, billing, management information system (MIS) reporting, speech-to-text clinical documentation, and clinical decision support. It also integrates features under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), enabling digital health services while requiring minimal technical expertise from users.
According to officials, only healthcare professionals registered under the Health Professional Registry (HPR) will be eligible to use the platform. Integration with the Health Facility Registry (HFR) will also be part of the onboarding process.
More than 800 healthcare facilities have already been onboarded onto e-Sushrut Clinic, generating over 680 health records, according to official data.
As part of the rollout, the National Health Authority (NHA) will sign a memorandum of understanding with C-DAC to support the platform's expansion. Under the agreement, C-DAC will oversee software maintenance, upgrades, and training of call center personnel, while the NHA will fund cloud hosting, SMS notifications related to ABDM services, and provide first-level customer support through its call center.
The software is priced at INR 499 per month for up to five users. Through the NHA-C-DAC partnership, users will receive a subsidy of INR 200 per month, reducing the effective subscription fee to INR 299 per month. The platform will also be available free of charge for the first three months.
Healthcare facilities requiring more than five users will be charged INR 50 per additional user per month, officials said.
Separately, C-DAC is implementing the full-scale e-Sushrut hospital management software across more than 15 AIIMS and several state government hospitals.
