GE HealthCare Expands Vivid Ultrasound Portfolio With Three New Cardiovascular Imaging Systems

The three systems are built on the same technology foundation as GE HealthCare’s ultra-premium Vivid Pioneer, with features tailored to different clinical environments.

GE HealthCare has expanded its Vivid cardiovascular ultrasound portfolio with three new systems: Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced and Vivid Focus, designed for different cardiology care settings, from routine echocardiography to comprehensive cardiac imaging and interventional procedures.

The systems will be showcased at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress 2026 in Munich, Germany, from August 28–31.

The three systems are built on the same technology foundation as GE HealthCare’s ultra-premium Vivid Pioneer, with features tailored to different clinical environments.

Vivid Explorer is designed for high-volume echo labs and routine interventional procedures. It supports 4D, multi-plane, and 2D imaging across transthoracic echocardiography (TTE), transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), and intracardiac echocardiography (ICE), along with AI and automation capabilities.

Vivid Advanced targets mid-size hospitals and cardiology practices requiring comprehensive cardiac imaging. It supports 2D TTE, multi-plane TEE, and 2D ICE, in addition to vascular, abdominal, and soft-tissue imaging.

Vivid Focus is positioned for everyday cardiac imaging and brings GE HealthCare’s cSound imaging technology to the system. It includes the new 4Sc-RS probe, AI-enabled workflow tools, and support for vascular, abdominal, and soft-tissue examinations.

All three systems use cSound, GE HealthCare’s software-based imaging architecture, which is designed to optimize contrast, resolution and tissue visualization through advanced processing.

The systems also feature AI-enabled tools including AI Auto Measure 2D, Easy AutoEF, Easy AFI LV and AI Cardiac Auto Doppler to reduce manual steps in routine echocardiography and measurements such as ejection fraction.

Alongside the new systems, GE HealthCare has introduced EchoPAC Software Only v211, an updated cardiovascular ultrasound analysis and reporting platform. It allows clinicians to review, analyze, and quantify studies on-site or remotely using consistent workflows.

GE HealthCare said the new Vivid systems and EchoPAC Software Only v211 have received the CE Mark. Vivid Explorer, Vivid Advanced and Vivid Focus are pending US FDA 510(k) clearance and are not currently available for sale in the US.
