Garmin & Apollo HealthAxis Expand Digital Health Collaboration in India
This development builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed at the Garmin Health Summit 2024 and extends the partnership’s focus to both urban and rural communities.
Garmin India and Apollo HealthAxis have announced the next phase of their strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing health monitoring, chronic disease management, and overall wellness across India.
This development builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed at the Garmin Health Summit 2024 and extends the partnership’s focus to both urban and rural communities.
Apollo’s Total Health programme, under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, is now fully integrated with the Garmin Health API. The integration enables the deployment of Garmin smartwatches and fitness trackers in rural areas to monitor chronic conditions such as diabetes. The joint research study will assess how continuous health tracking can improve outcomes in underserved populations.
Juha Villanen, head of B2B & Partnerships, Garmin (EMEA Emerging Markets and India), said, “At Garmin, we believe that technology can help advance preventive healthcare. Our collaboration with Apollo HealthAxis is a significant step forward in our efforts to provide actionable, real-time health data that complements clinical expertise. From rural communities to urban professionals, this collaboration will reshape how people in India interact with their health daily.”
Urban customers purchasing select Garmin fitness trackers now have access to Apollo ProHealth, a doctor-driven AI program that collects health data, predicts disease risk, and provides personalized lifestyle recommendations. Select Apollo Health Plans will bundle Garmin wearables with their services to offer a seamless health experience.
Dr. Sangita Reddy, joint managing director, Apollo Hospitals Group, added, “This partnership with Garmin is another step in that journey. By bringing together wearable technology with Apollo’s health programs, we can empower individuals to take charge of their own well-being and also reach communities that often get left behind. Our vision is simple — to make healthcare more personal, predictive, preventive, and accessible for every Indian, while at the same time we continue to excel in bringing advanced care to as many people as possible around the world.”
The collaboration leverages Garmin devices’ biometric tracking capabilities, including heart rate variability, sleep, stress, respiration, body battery, PulseOx, VO2 Max, and physical activity, alongside Apollo’s medical diagnostics and advisory systems.
