Addressing the rising prevalence of pre-diabetes and diabetes in India, Fortis-CDOC has inaugurated a diabetes remission clinic in collaboration with Twin Health USA, incorporating innovative Whole-Body Digital Twin™ technology.

The clinic aims to provide comprehensive diabetes care through personalised strategies focusing on nutrition, sleep, and physical activity. The Whole-Body Digital Twin™ technology, utilising advanced algorithms and machine learning, tailors advice for lifestyle modifications, contributing to effective disease management.

Prof Dr Anoop Misra, executive chairman of diabetes, endocrinology and allied multi-specialties at Fortis C-DOC, commenting on the benefits of the diabetes remission clinic said, "It is an exciting convergence of medical breakthroughs and technological prowess as we unite the latest advancements in diabetes remission with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The newly launched clinic will be instrumental in broadening outreach. It will positively impact more patients, marking the beginning of a transformative phase in the quality of diabetes treatment."

The clinic's approach has been validated by the world's first Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) for chronic metabolic disease remission using digital twin technology.

Incredibly, 92% of participants successfully stopped their diabetes medications, showcasing the effectiveness of the Whole-Body Digital Twin™ in empowering individuals to reverse and prevent conditions like diabetes and prediabetes.

Based out of New Delhi, Fortis C-DOC Hospital, operating since January 2012, has emerged as a facility in North India, providing comprehensive treatment, care, and management for diabetes, metabolic diseases, and endocrine disorders.

In other healthcare developments, on World Diabetes Day, AIIMS Delhi also took a step towards diabetes care by launching a free insulin distribution service for economically disadvantaged patients. This initiative provides free insulin vials to prescribed patients in outpatient departments and those admitted for consultation.

Additionally, healthtech startup BeatO expanded its diabetes care services by launching physical touchpoints in collaboration with renowned doctors. This 'phygital' approach integrates physical and digital elements, starting with five clinics in the Delhi/NCR region, with plans to expand across key cities in the next six months.
