eClinicalWorks Expands AI Integration Across EHR and Revenue Cycle Platforms
The company demonstrated new AI-enabled solutions spanning electronic health records (EHR), revenue cycle automation, and specialty care offerings.
eClinicalWorks (eCW) unveiled a series of artificial intelligence (AI) tools aimed at enhancing physician workflows, patient interactions, and revenue cycle management during its 2025 National Conference in Orlando.
The company demonstrated new AI-enabled solutions spanning electronic health records (EHR), revenue cycle automation, and specialty care offerings.
Girish Navani, eCW CEO and co-founder, emphasized the transformation in clinical workflows, stating, "We are in the midst of the user interface changing. It is dramatically changing right in front of our eyes." He highlighted the impact of ambient computing on physician engagement, noting that smart glasses and exam rooms without traditional keyboards or monitors allow doctors to focus on patients while AI captures clinical notes.
During demonstrations, Navani showed how AI-driven wearable devices could transcribe conversations, access patient records contextually, and improve time management both inside and outside the clinic. "The smart wearables will become great augment devices that will facilitate a much better experience as you use them in the delivery of care inside your clinics, save your time outside your clinics and not take you away from times that matter most," he explained.
The Healow Genie AI-Powered Contact Center platform was also highlighted, showing automation of routine administrative tasks such as appointment management, prescription refills, referrals, and payments. In a staged demo, Navani illustrated how the system could summarize patient encounters and practice revenue updates into mobile-accessible, interactive podcasts. "If I can do this for the physician, why not for the finance team?" he said, highlighting efficiency improvements for administrative workflows.
eCW also showcased its AI-driven value-based care (VBC) services, designed to identify at-risk patients and support early intervention in chronic disease management. Revenue cycle management enhancements, including the Autonomous Claims Verification pilot, demonstrated a reported 300% increase in efficiency when processing paper explanations of benefits (EOBs).
Looking ahead, eCW plans to expand its EHR capabilities to inpatient, emergency, and pharmacy settings, prioritizing underserved hospitals. Navani noted, "We expect to release the new inpatient EHR tailored for critical access and rural health hospitals next year." Additional conference announcements included enhanced interoperability under the CMS Digital Health Tech Ecosystem initiative and an expansion of PRISMANet, eCW's qualified health information network, now equipped with AI for document summarization and streamlined search.
To date, eCW has introduced 125 AI-driven features across its platform, encompassing tools for transcribed data integration, coding assistance, and document summarization.
