Digital India at 11: PM Modi Says Technology Now a Tool to Save Lives

PM Modi said India’s digital revolution is no longer about devices and apps alone, it’s about ensuring every citizen, especially in rural and underserved areas, has access to healthcare and life-saving services at their fingertips.
Technology is no longer just infrastructure, it’s saving lives and transforming healthcare delivery in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said marking 11 years of the Digital India initiative.
Highlighting the healthcare milestones of the digital mission, Modi noted how schemes like Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, Jeevan Pramaan, and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) have ensured that the poor and marginalized receive timely medical support, welfare funds, and health services.
“Service delivery and transparency have been greatly boosted. Technology has become a tool for empowering and saving the lives of the poorest of poor,” Modi posted on X.
Key Healthcare Tech Milestones

Jeevan Pramaan digital life certificates have ensured hassle-free pension access for over 10 Cr senior citizens, many of whom rely on it for medical care.
Direct Benefit Transfers worth INR 44 lakh Cr have reached beneficiaries directly, ensuring subsidies and health funds without middlemen.
Aadhaar authentication crossed 150 billion transactions, enabling targeted healthcare and welfare support.
UMANG App and DigiLocker have made healthcare documents and public services accessible anytime, anywhere.
“Powered by the youth, India is becoming a tech-driven, self-reliant nation where technology saves lives and secures futures,” he added.
