The platform’s latest report illuminates evolving healthcare patterns, highlighting the increasing demand for flexible, round-the-clock medical services and shifting priorities among Indian households.

MediBuddy, one of India’s leading digital healthcare platforms, provided healthcare access to over 1.27 Cr individuals in 2024.

The platform’s latest report illuminates evolving healthcare patterns, highlighting the increasing demand for flexible, round-the-clock medical services and shifting priorities among Indian households.

A key insight from the data reveals that 37% of online consultations occurred after 6 PM. This shift toward seeking medical advice outside traditional working hours reflects the growing demand for healthcare services catering to urban India's fast-paced, time-constrained lifestyles.

MediBuddy’s report emphasizes, “This trend underscores the need for accessible, high-quality care beyond standard working hours, catering to the demands of a digitally active population.”

Family-Focused Bookings Dominate Online Consultations

The data also underscores the collective approach to healthcare among Indian households. Approximately 40% of bookings on the platform were made on behalf of family and friends.

Breaking this down further, 44% of the bookings were for parents, showcasing the younger generation’s commitment to the health of their elders. Spouses accounted for 33% of the bookings, while 11% were for children, focusing on partner and child wellness.

“This data highlights the importance of family health as a priority, where younger generations are actively stepping in to ensure better care for their loved ones,” the report states.

Specialties in High Demand: Gastroenterology, Pediatrics, Dermatology

The report also highlights key medical specialties that were frequently accessed in 2024. Gastroenterology led the demand, driven by increased awareness of gut health and associated disorders.

Pediatrics followed closely, with families seeking support for children’s growth and developmental needs. Dermatology emerged as another popular specialty, with users consulting on skin issues such as acne and general skin care.

The report states, “The rising focus on specialized healthcare indicates a shift toward targeted medical solutions that address specific health concerns.”

Empowering Healthcare Workers

The data highlights MediBuddy’s extensive phlebotomy network, which covered a distance equivalent to traveling from Kashmir to Kanyakumari 2,192 times in 2024.

Notably, 25% of these phlebotomists were women, reflecting the platform’s commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunities.

“These journeys exemplify the dedication of healthcare workers to ensuring care reaches every corner of the country,” the report adds.
