The integrated Emergency Response Services (ERS) ecosystem aims to improve emergency preparedness, remote health monitoring, and rapid medical intervention.

ISIC Multispeciality Hospital has partnered with health technology company DrRing to launch what it describes as India's first hospital-integrated wearable emergency response device directly connected to a hospital emergency department.

The integrated Emergency Response Services (ERS) ecosystem aims to improve emergency preparedness, remote health monitoring, and rapid medical intervention. The solution is targeted at senior citizens, post-operative patients, vulnerable individuals, and those requiring continuous medical supervision.

According to the hospital, the wearable device enables users to activate an SOS alert during medical emergencies such as chest discomfort, breathing difficulties, panic attacks, falls, or sudden health distress. Once triggered, the alert connects users directly with the hospital's duty doctor for immediate guidance and support.

The system can also coordinate ambulance services, notify designated emergency contacts, and escalate cases when users are unable to respond. In addition to emergency assistance, the platform incorporates regular preparedness drills to familiarize users with the SOS activation process and improve response during real-life emergencies.

Before its official rollout, the device underwent a pre-trial phase involving selected families, residential communities, and school settings in nearby areas. The pilot was conducted to evaluate the device's usability, response accuracy, and effectiveness in emergency scenarios.

Dr. Ashish Chandra, Chief Operating Officer of ISIC Multispeciality Hospital, said the initiative is intended to extend healthcare services beyond traditional hospital settings through connected care and timely intervention.

The platform also supports wearable-based health data tracking, personalized health trend monitoring, direct doctor connectivity, geofencing capabilities, WhatsApp integration, and access to a broader emergency response network, according to the hospital.

Dr. Shiv Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of DrRing, said the wearable was developed to simplify emergency response and provide faster access to medical assistance during critical situations. He noted that delays in seeking help often worsen medical emergencies, particularly among senior citizens and individuals living independently.

The launch event included a live demonstration of the SOS emergency response system, highlighting how the platform facilitates emergency communication, escalation procedures, and coordinated medical response during critical incidents.
