Bajaj Allianz Launches First-of-Its-Kind State-Wise Health Policies

Available in individual and floater variants, the plans offer flexible sum insured options ranging from INR 5 lakh to INR 20 lakh.

Bajaj Allianz General Insurance has launched a new health insurance initiative, introducing state-wise policies tailored to the specific healthcare needs of different regions across India.

The State-wise Health Insurance Policy initiative is designed to align with each state’s healthcare ecosystem. It factors in local medical infrastructure, disease patterns, and affordability levels, offering health coverage that is more locally relevant and accessible.

Available in individual and floater variants, the plans offer flexible sum insured options ranging from INR 5 lakh to INR 20 lakh. They are structured to meet the varying financial capacities and medical needs of users, be they young professionals, families, or elderly citizens.

The policies provide comprehensive coverage for various healthcare needs, including inpatient hospitalisation, pre- and post-hospitalisation expenses, and day-care procedures. Advanced medical interventions such as robotic surgeries and stem cell therapy are also included.

Additionally, the policies cover organ donor expenses under the base plan and offer lifetime renewability, ensuring long-term coverage regardless of age.

Customers can further enhance their protection through optional add-ons. One such feature is the Unlimited Sum Insured Reinstatement, which allows policyholders to restore their coverage multiple times within the policy period after a claim is made. Another benefit, the Super Cumulative Bonus, offers a coverage increase of up to 200% for claim-free years.

To ensure cultural resonance, each policy is branded with a name inspired by the local language and context. For instance, in Hindi-speaking states, it is marketed as “AapKe Liye.”

Dr Tapan Singhel, MD & CEO of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, said, “From treatment costs to disease patterns, healthcare challenges vary across regions, and insurance must evolve to reflect this reality.”

The policies also include wellness-linked discounts at renewal. For example, policyholders who walk 7,500 steps per day for at least 24 days each month across 9 months are eligible for a 5% renewal discount. Walking 10,000 steps increases this to 10%.

Additionally, a Festive Bonus feature offers INR 1,000 per day for hospitalization due to acute illness or injury during a festival week in the policyholder’s home state, up to 10 days per year.

Currently, the state-wise offerings have been rolled out across 25 Indian states and 5 Union Territories.
