b.well Partners with Humana, Noom, & Welldoc to Strengthen Health Data Interoperability
The initiative aims to enable individuals to securely access and share their medical records across providers, health plans, pharmacies, and digital health applications.
Baltimore-based digital health platform, b.well Connected Health, has announced a series of partnerships, including Noom, a digital health company, a cardiometabolic-focused healthcare technology company, Welldoc, and health insurance company Humana, to expand access to healthcare data.
The new partnership aligns with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Health Technology Ecosystem initiative.
The initiative aims to enable individuals to securely access and share their medical records across providers, health plans, pharmacies, and digital health applications.
Through these integrations, users will be able to aggregate and access their health data via b.well’s national health data network, intended to support more coordinated and personalized care experiences.
As part of the partnership, Humana will enable members to connect health data from multiple sources while also leveraging real-time data access to streamline claims processing and respond more efficiently to provider and payer requests.
Additionally, Welldoc will integrate its AI-enabled app with b.well’s infrastructure to enable access to patient-authorized health data while supporting personalized insights and clinical decision-making for chronic disease management.
Reflecting his thoughts on the partnership, Kevin McRaith, CEO and president of Welldoc, said, “Our partnership with b.well connects us to a nationwide health data network, leveraging a network-of-networks approach to ensure the most complete, longitudinal record across the country. This allows us to activate our cardiometabolic solutions with data that is trusted, comprehensive, and available when patients and clinicians need it most.”
Furthermore, the company, along with Noom, will introduce Health Record Connect, a new feature designed for Medicare beneficiaries. The tool is intended to allow users to link their medical records directly to the Noom platform, enabling tailored interventions based on diagnoses, medications, and lab results.
Commenting on the partnership, Geoff Cook, CEO of Noom, said, "One of the biggest barriers to truly personalized healthcare is data silos; patient health records aren't easily shared between providers, health systems, and digital platforms. With this integration, we're changing that. A Medicare member can now connect their health records to Noom in minutes. We're also making our flagship Noom Weight program completely free for the first 30 days for all Medicare members who are new to Noom."
Currently, b.well operates a health data network that spans connections to 2.4 million providers, 350 health plans, labs, wearables, and other sources. The company uses a 13-step data refinery process, which normalizes, deduplicates, and enriches fragmented data into a complete longitudinal health record.
