As a result of the merger, four major brands have been combined: Aster DM Healthcare, CARE Hospitals, KIMSHEALTH, and Evercare.
Following the Competition Commission of India's (CCI) clearance on April 15, the merged healthcare entity Aster DM Quality Care Limited is moving ahead with plans to scale its hospital capacity to approximately 13,300 beds by the financial year 2026–27.
The merged organization combines the operations of Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India Ltd, consolidating four major brands: Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, KIMSHEALTH, and Evercare.
Currently managing 38 hospitals with over 10,150 beds across 27 Indian cities, the unified entity plans to expand through greenfield and brownfield projects using internal accruals and existing capital reserves.
With the integration, Aster DM Quality Care is among India's top three hospital chains by size. The strategic focus is strengthening existing infrastructure and extending services into underserved regions.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, emphasized the scale of the initiative. “The integration of the companies’ extensive networks and operational expertise will significantly strengthen our capacity to deliver world-class healthcare, foster innovation, and elevate patient outcomes,” he said.
“Together, we are setting the stage for a new era in healthcare,” he added, highlighting the collaborative approach toward healthcare delivery in the merged setup.
The merger aims to unlock operational synergies by standardizing clinical protocols, improving coordination across specialties, and investing in advanced medical technologies. Shared systems and collaborative practices are expected to support efficiency, scale, and patient outcomes.
The transaction is expected to be completed within the current financial year.
