The hospital will focus on five core specialties: cardiac sciences, neurosciences, orthopaedics, medical and surgical gastroenterology, and general and laparoscopic surgery.
Apollo Hospitals has expanded its Karnataka presence with the launch of a 200-bed specialty hospital in Sheshadripuram, Bengaluru, aimed at strengthening clinical capacity for non-communicable diseases amid rising incidence among adults aged 30–40.
The new unit is designed to improve access to tertiary care services in central Bengaluru and strengthen hospital infrastructure in response to the increasing burden of chronic diseases. The facility will also include emergency care and diagnostic services.
The hospital will focus on five core specialties—cardiac sciences, neurosciences, orthopaedics, medical and surgical gastroenterology, and general and laparoscopic surgery. These departments have been aligned with the growing clinical demand linked to lifestyle-related conditions and long-term chronic illnesses reported in urban populations.
According to the hospital group, non-communicable diseases, including cardiovascular disorders, neurological conditions, and metabolic complications, now account for a significant share of hospital admissions. The Sheshadripuram facility has been structured to manage both emergency interventions and planned surgical procedures across these specialties.
Naresh Parmar, CEO of Apollo Hospitals for the Karnataka region, said the organisation is witnessing a steady rise in younger patients requiring medical care. “We see approximately 1,200 cases every month among patients aged between 30 and 40 years,” he said, pointing to a shift in disease patterns toward earlier onset of NCDs.
He added that the primary objective of the new hospital is to address the growing prevalence of non-communicable diseases, which have continued to increase in recent years. The facility is also expected to support faster access to specialised diagnostics and treatment pathways for patients requiring advanced care.
The hospital was inaugurated by Prathap C. Reddy, Chairman and Founder of Apollo Hospitals, who said the expansion is part of the group’s ongoing response to India’s rising burden of non-communicable diseases. He also referred to the organisation’s long-standing presence in healthcare delivery since its early operations in Chennai.
With this addition, Apollo Hospitals now operates four facilities in Karnataka, further expanding its network in Bengaluru’s growing healthcare ecosystem.
