In collaboration with 4baseCare, the centre features advanced Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) machines for patient genomic profiling.
AIIMS Jammu has launched a new Centre for Advanced Genomics & Precision Medicine to enhance cancer treatment capabilities.
Developed in collaboration with 4baseCare, the centre is equipped with state-of-the-art Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) machines to conduct genomic profiling of patients, enabling the creation of personalized treatment plans for cancer patients.
The advanced NGS technology allows clinicians to tailor treatment plans based on patients' unique molecular profiles, improving the accuracy and effectiveness of cancer therapies.
This innovation will enable the centre to offer advanced molecular diagnostics for patients and healthcare providers across the country, making precision medicine accessible regardless of geographical location.
Dr. Sandeep Sharma, the Director of AIIMS Jammu, emphasized the significance of the new facility, stating, “This Centre will serve as a key resource in revolutionizing cancer care, allowing us to identify the most effective treatments for each patient based on their genetic makeup.”
The centre’s focus on genomic sequencing will support the development of more targeted therapies, potentially reducing treatment side effects and improving patient outcomes.
AIIMS Jammu is set to play a pivotal role in advancing the integration of genomics into routine clinical practice, further establishing its role in providing cutting-edge medical services.
