Dr Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals has underlined the transformative impact of digital integration in healthcare.
At a recent event, she discussed initiatives such as the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) and eSanjeevani Telemedicine, highlighting their effectiveness in connecting hospitals, digital health platforms, and home-care solutions.
Dr. Reddy also noted that the Covid-19 pandemic spurred a staggering 300% increase in digital adoption, emphasizing the necessity for interconnected healthcare models that promote continuous care and early intervention.
Dr Reddy stressed that technology should enhance, not replace, clinical excellence. She highlighted the importance of utilizing digital advancements to boost diagnostic accuracy, improve treatment outcomes, and standardize quality care across various healthcare settings.
She further outlined Apollo Hospitals' strategic partnership with Microsoft, aimed at developing AI-driven tools for diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient monitoring.
This collaboration also focuses on disease progression analysis, genomics research, and real-time decision-making facilitated by AI copilots designed for clinicians, patients, nurses, and hospital operations.
These innovations are poised to streamline hospital workflows, minimize diagnostic delays, and enhance remote healthcare delivery, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
Addressing the issue of healthcare accessibility, Dr Sangita Reddy pointed out the significance of initiatives like Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), microinsurance models, and healthcare lending in alleviating financial barriers for patients, particularly in Tier-2 cities and underserved regions.
